Medium temperature α- amylase
Medium temperature α- amylase, a single enzyme preparation for feeding, which is selected as high-yielding strain of Bacillus subtilis, fermented by advanced deep liquid technology and processed by unique post-treatment technology. An endonuclease amylase produced by bacillus subtilis that acts on the α-1, 4-glycoside bond in amylose or amylopectin, which make maltose and glucose. Supplementing the deficiency of the animal’s endogenous enzymes. increasing appetite. Promoting animal growth and development. Reducing feed costs. Improving the performance of livestock and poultry production.
Function of Starch anti-nutritional factors
Starch added to feed is the main source of energy for animals. 60-80% of the energy required by animals comes from starch in feed. The main reason of low nutrient utilization rate for some plant raw materials is that the anti-nutrient factors in starch are mainly amylose and amylopectin. (Table 1)

The anti-nutritional effects of starch have been proved to be as follows: shielding nutrients, increasing chyme viscosity, reducing available feed energy, and causing the growth of intestinal pathogens etc. The two main ones are:
Shielding nutrients
Amylose in starch is a straight chain polymer, formed by d-glucose through α-1, 4-glycosidic bond. Amylopectin has a higher molecular weight than amylose, which is difficult to dissolve in water and keeping a higher viscosity. The wrapped nutrients can not contact the digestive enzymes in the digestive tract, which is shielding the absorption of nutrients and reducing the available energy of the feed.
Cause the growth of intestinal pathogens
Because most of the amylose and amylopectin contained in plant feed ingredients can not be well digested and absorbed by animals and the undigested chyme enters the hindgut stage. Besides it is utilized by harmful microorganisms in the hindgut. Finally it causes the reproduction of intestinal pathogens and reducing the immunity of animals.

Wide range of pH
In line with the physiological pH range of the animal gut, say pH 4.0 to 7.0, the range of action is broad and the duration is longer. Medium temperature α- amylase had the highest activity at pH6.0 (Fig. 2).

Significant heat resistance
The enzyme activity was still more than 80% after being treated at 90℃ for 3min. (Fig. 3).

〔Product specification and usage〕
Product specification Powder:50,000; 100,000U/g;
Usage
Medium temperature α- amylase can be used alone or combined with other enzymes depending on feed composition and purpose. The following are the methods used alone (100,000 U/g product as an example, Table 2) :
Table 2 Application method of Medium temperature α- amylase in full-price compound feed
Method 1: To improve product quality |
Method 2: To reduce feed costs |
Add 80~120 g to each ton of fermented feed directly, Concentrate material and premix material are added in proportion. |
The addition amount of enzyme is the same as method 1. The addition amount should be adjusted according to the starch content in the full price formula feed. |
Note: Powdery enzymes need to be mixed at least twice in feed processing. They can be pre-mixed with vitamins and other trace components first, and then mixed with other feeds.
〔Product selection recommendation〕
Powder and granulating temperature is less than 85 ℃ of granular material choose powder enzyme. It is recommended to use liquid enzyme after spraying for granular with granulation temperature higher than 85℃.
If there is no post-spraying equipment and Medium temperature α- amylase needs to be used in granulating above 85℃. It is suggested to add an additional 20% to 50% safety margin to ensure the full reaction of product performance.
Medium temperature α- amylase can be added to diets of young animals and barley alone.
〔Packing, transportation and storage〕
Packing: The powder enzyme is packed in 20kg kraft paper bag.
Transportation: Protected from sun exposure and rain. Shall not be mixed with toxic and harmful and pollutants.
Storage: Stored in a cool, ventilated and dry place. The shelf life of powder enzyme is 12 months.
